Henry Linarez


Henry Linarez is a Venezuelan Cuatro musician, born in 1980 in Barquisimeto, Midwestern Venezuela. Linarez, began his relationship with music at the age of three and received musical instruction from notable musicians and teachers from his birthplace. Besides the Cuatro, Linarez also studied Guitar, Piano, harmony and composition. As part of his musical formation, he travelled to various regions in Venezuela to learn about the different genres and traditional expressions that characterized each area. His comprehensive formation makes him a solid performer of traditional Venezuelan folk music.

Linarez has hosted concerts and workshops in different cities of his native Venezuela as well as concerts in several cities of the US (NY, LA, Chicago 7 Washington DC), Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto), Mexico ( DF, Zacatecas, Tegucigalpa), Central & South America (San Salvador, Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, Casanare, Arauca, Ciudad de Panamá) as well assome Carribbean islands (Aruba, Trinidad y Puerto Rico). Europe has also been an active hub for the artist, hosting concerts in London, Manchester, Paris, Brussels, Ámsterdam, Frankfurt and Stockholm.

His virtuosic playing of the small guitar of hispanic heritage, has led Linarez to perform alongside important local musicians such as Simon Diaz, Gualberto Ibarreto, Aquiles Machado, Aldemaro Romero, Ensamble Garrufio among others. Internationally renowned artists, Arturo Sandoval, Rosario y Lolita Flores have also relied on Mr. Linarez during live performances. Albums: “Entre Querubines 2003” , “Un Cuartico En Navidad 2008” and his most recent work ”Bendiciones 2011”.
